With extensive years of experience in the AEC industry, he has a proven record of success leading diverse projects from site planning, program and building design conception to document production, construction administration and project closeout. During his career evolution, he has provided innovative leadership as a component of professional services to federal, state, municipal and private-sector clients. A strong an active proponent of evidence-based design, Patrick has successfully incorporated such strategies on a variety of building types including educational, institutional, civic, museum, commercial, recreational, healthcare, residential and hospitality projects.
For over 18 years, Patrick’s primary focus has been Education Architecture. Patrick has a proven record of success leading new and renovation K-12 and Higher Education projects from site planning, programmatic and building design conception to document production, contract administration and closeout, with budgets ranging from $50,000 to over $100M. During the evolution of his career, he has provided innovative leadership as a component of professional services to various school districts including DC Public Schools, Arlington Public Schools, Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore County Public Schools, Prince George’s County Public Schools, Montgomery County Public Schools, Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Frederick County Public Schools. Previous higher education clients include: Georgetown University, Howard University, University of the District of Columbia, University of Maryland and University of Baltimore.
Patrick is a member of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), formerly Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI), the primary advocate and resource for effective educational facilities. Serving those who use, plan, design, construct, maintain, equip and operate educational facilities, Patrick shares CEFPI’s vision to advocate for excellence in student learning environments. He keeps abreast of current trends in K-12 and Higher Education design through the wide spectrum of professional development opportunities that the organization provides.
Mr. Williams began his architectural education at the College of Arts, Science & Technology (CAST) in Kingston, Jamaica, graduating with a Diploma in Architectural Technology in 1987. He then studied architecture at The City University of New York, City College from 1989 to 1993, receiving the dual degrees of BS Architecture (Cum Laude) and Bachelor of Architecture. In August 2006, Patrick completed his Master of Science in Engineering (Construction Management) degree from The Catholic University of America. In July 2015, he completed an Executive Education training course in Integrated Project Management from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is a registered architect in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia; holds a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) certificate; is a LEED Accredited Professional and is certified in Public Interest Design by the SEED Network.
